Needs a licensed removalist and its own disposal path
Paint, oils and solvents
Classed as hazardous, free drop-off at Detox Your Home days
Gas bottles
Pressurised, most gas suppliers take them back
Car batteries and tyres
Most tyre and battery shops recycle them free
Food and wet waste
Attracts vermin, goes in your council bin
Medical and chemical waste
Needs specialist disposal, ring us and we'll point you somewhere
Worth knowing: if prohibited waste turns up in a bin, the transfer station charges us to separate it and that cost gets passed on. A quick phone call beforehand costs nothing and saves the surprise.
